Magik must have been in the back of my head when I did that silhouette spot illo. So I decided to do a lil bit of fan art.

She was always one of my favourite X-characters. Lots of people like drawing Illyana as Darkchylde, but I like her best when she was a New Mutant. So I decided no hoofs, no horns, no glowing eyes, no loincloth. Though that last one is always tempting. ;)

I also liked the relationship arc with her big bro. I wanted to play with that idea a bit. So i went for a touch more cheerful than the usual brooding Magik type stuff.

Yes! This is one of the things I like most. People like portraying her as Darkchylde. But she's also just a teenage girl with a big brother who loves her.
